ABOUT US - THE TEAM

Ben Pritchard
Managing Director

Ben started his career in the family business as an apprentice diesel mechanic servicing a fleet of Bedford Trucks and maintaining the diverse range of production equipment. After qualifying as a mechanic he went on to the big boys’ toys at Scania Trucks, later moving into sales. After Scania he recognised an opportunity in the forklift game and became the State Manager for Linde Forklifts here in South Australia.
With his knowledge of mechanics, sales and a desire to “be his own boss” he started BPF Equipment with his very tolerant, beautiful wife Terry. Together they built up BPF Equipment from humble beginnings to the diversified business you see today.
Straight to the point, Ben calls a spade a spade and sometimes has a grumpy awe about him but in fact has a good sense of humour - you do need to “dig“ for it at times.... He also has an uncanny way of blaming Lindsay for things that go wrong.
One thing that pricks Bens ears up is the sound of a rumbling V8. He has always wanted a V8 Ute but one issue that he faces is; if he took the dog, Terry would have to sit in the back!
Ben is passionate about his company and is always looking at options and equipment to better serve the customer.
Likes – Enjoys sales, time out at home on the farm. Dislikes - Inconsiderate drivers

Terry-Anne Pritchard
Director/Secretary

Starting as a hairdresser owning her own salon, Terry quickly adapted from sweet old ladies to grumpy old men!
With the new change of life in 2001 to support her husband in the Capital Equipment Industry, Terry has successfully taken on many challenges over the years. This experience has given her the knowledge to keep things running smoothly behind the scenes and to give customers the support they require on a day to day basis.
Claiming the title “Boss Lady” if you don’t pay your bill, you answer to Terry!
Likes –Cats, her kids, chocolate and sometimes Ben! Dislikes - Tea made with a tea bag.

Lindsay Daw
Sales Representative

Growing up on a property near Victor Harbor, Lindsay’s passion for machinery was forged with the use of the farms equipment to build motorbike tracks - everyone knew where to find the tractor when it was missing!
Picking up sales quite quickly in the Car Industry, when the opportunity presented itself to do what he loves to do best, play on machines and get dirty, Lindsay couldn’t resist...
Starting at BPF Equipment in 2009 green to the industry, he has done more than his fair share of learning. Now labelled the “Dawminator”, he has proven to be a valuable asset to the company and has provided solutions for people within industries such as landscaping, plumbing, earthmoving and more.....
Likes – Motocross, waterskiing, anything that gets the adrenalin pumping. Dislikes – Bunny fluff and people who drive at 50 in a 60 zone.

Barry Whitaker
Service Manager

Trained initially as an Aircraft Technician in the R.A.A.F, Barry progressed to earthmoving equipment and then to heavy vehicle transport. After spending several years in the Hire Industry, Barry is now using his wealth of knowledge on forklifts, elevating work platforms and small earthmoving equipment.
Along with dotting his i’s and crossing his t’s, Barry’s background in the service and repairs of elevating work platforms and earthmoving equipment has proven to be invaluable for the BPF Equipment Service Department.
In Barry’s spare time he can be found at the gym or training the coaches at his local soccer association.
Likes – Quiet time in the garden and developing coaching courses. Dislikes – Impatient drivers.

John Wright
Technician

John AKA Jono grew up on a large hobby farm in Inglewood, South Australia. He had exactly that, lots of hobbies! From pulling apart anything with an engine to running amuck on go-karts and motorbikes his parents were always kept on the edge of their seats.
Jono did his apprenticeship in the Automotive Industry using the skills he taught himself growing up on a farm. Seeking a job that offers more variety, BPF Equipment saw Jono as a genuine team player with the vital technical skills required to join the team.
His work ethic, abilities in problem solving and customer service skills will ensure that your machine will go back to work with confidence. Giving Jono time to get back to eating the last piece of cake!
Likes – Anything with an engine, beer and fishing. Dislikes – Doing the dishes.

Adam Jervis
Technician

Born and bred in Adelaide, Adam has lived a life of fast cars, boats, hunting and really loud music – to say the least.
Many of his younger years were spent following his Dad around Australia on the Formula 1 Boat Circuit to which he would race his Nipper Boat proving to be quite successful. Between his Dad with his boats and his Grandfather with his race cars it was only natural that Adam would form a love for anything mechanical.
Adam did his apprenticeship with Honda up until 2009 when he made the leap into the Capital Equipment Industry seeking a change and also a challenge. Being such a diverse business with a wide range of equipment, Adam has quickly developed the essential skills needed to be able to solve some of the more technical issues that BPF Equipment comes up against.
When Adam isn’t at work with the radio blaring he can be found sliding around a drift track or spending time with his son Izaiah.
Likes – Loud music, fast cars and turbos. Dislikes – Alarm clocks.

Ted Pritchard
Mechanic

Ted left the family farm to pursue a career in the Trucking & Earthmoving Industry with a keen interest in mechanics.
After spending around 20 years in the game, he decided to join the family business working in the factory as the Maintenance Manager. He was responsible for the maintenance and repair of the packaging and milling machinery along with the company vehicles.
Ted now spends his time terrorising his older brother with constant reminders of embarrassing incidents from the past. When he’s not terrorising Ben, Ted is one that BPF Equipment can rely on. With his vast knowledge of machinery and ability to think outside the square he is a valuable asset to the company.
Likes – Red wine and Jack Daniels. Dislikes – Brussel sprouts and Jim Beam.

Puppy
Customer Liaison

Puppy also left the family farm to pursue a career as a customer liason with a keen interest in Kanga wheels and anything that can be thrown and retrieved.
After spending around 9 years in the sheep business, he decided to join the family business as a result of going to the vet to get his "eye" checked. .
Puppy is the one that BPF Equipment rely on, with keen interest in rags and balls he keeps all our customers entertained while they seek assistance. Be warned "pick up the ball at your own risk!"
Likes – Balls, Rags and revolving Kanga wheels. Dislikes – Vet's and Adelaide water.
